The Atta Deep Academy is a knowledge centre set up by CORO India to acknowledge grassroots people as owners of their knowledge and stand for their ‘right to knowledge-building’. 

Atta Deep Grassroots Leadership Academy was launched on 7th September’23.  Grassroots leaders from 40+ social sectors organisations in Maharashtra and Rajasthan were part of this programme, dedicated to defining, constructing, and preserving local knowledge. These organizations that CORO has worked with for several years came together to think through and act on the Academy.  

The event was graced by individuals who have made significant contributions to the creation of grassroots knowledge, including Padmashree Beej Mata Rahi Bai Popere, Urmila Pawar, author of the book Ayadan, senior journalist and author Sandhya Nare-Pawar, transgender activist and author Disha Pinky Sheikh, and literary artist Chinmayi Sumit. They collectively presented the vision of the Academy to different stakeholders on the day.

Additionally, The event also launched the 16 modules of CORO’s 15-years of proven model of facilitating grassroots leadership.
